Ethan Potthoff wins the Provost's Research Prize at SMU's Research and Innovation Week.
Ethan Potthoff was chosen as a winner of the Provost’s Research Prize (for Computer Science) at SMU’s 2022 Research and Innovation Week. This event helps to highlight the outstanding research conducted by SMU’s graduate students.
Ethan won for his research on unsupervised learning for scientific simulations. His research is part of the NSF-funded project Data Science Supplemental: Evaluation of Liquefaction Potential of Saturated Granular Soils Under Partial Drainage Conditions (Supplement to Award # 1728612) and is supervised by me together with Prof. Usama El Shamy from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.
